Grande Reserva DOC Telheiro Santos 2019
A Douro red with a generous body and a velvety finish.
Born from the region's noble grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela - this Grande Reserva has a full-bodied and elegant profile. With intense notes of ripe black fruit, light floral touches and smoky and spicy notes, it reveals a complexity that unfolds in the glass. The well-integrated wood adds sophistication, while the polished tannins and soft acidity ensure balance and persistence.
Ideal to accompany casserole dishes with intense flavours, such as braised shank, hunter-style rabbit or dried cod soups with chestnuts. A wine to share at the table with friends, where the aroma of smoke and slow conversation are part of the experience.
Acidity :
Smooth
Suggestions :
Pernil Zimbrado, dried kid soups, salpicão soups or rooster pot. It also goes well with dried codfish soups, or a codfish lagarada with Longal chestnuts, spiced up with some ground black pepper at the end; Hunter's Rabbit in Potato Rosti; Wild Boar Stew; Stewed Rabbit (spicy cinnamon and aniseed flavours); Beef Tongue, Beetroot and grilled wild asparagus
Environment :
This wine, despite its ability to withstand a diverse environment, is best drunk sitting at a table surrounded by friends and good conversation. The air should be filled with a gentle breeze with some warmth and the light aroma of smoke and sausages, establishing a link to the fireplaces of the Douro smokehouse.
